Hi, I’m Charlene — welcome to Kissing Kittens!
For the past seven years, I’ve been rescuing kittens and cats here in Ibiza, where I’ve witnessed first-hand the challenges that abandoned and stray cats face every day.

How It All Began:

Seven years ago, my daughter and I moved into our apartment, and on day one, an abandoned cat named ChufI ran straight into our apartment—and straight into our lives. My daughter had been asking for a cat for years, but I’d always hesitated, unsure of how long we’d be in the apartment. But when Chufi appeared, little did I know, everything would change forever. We adopted her immediately, and she became a beloved part of our family.

Chufi was the start of my journey into understanding the struggles of abandoned and street cats here in Ibiza. She opened my heart and my eyes to a cause I never knew I’d be so passionate about. Though she's no longer with us, her memory continues to inspire everything I do. 

The Drive Behind My Mission:

Adopting Chufi opened up my heart and eyes to the overwhelming need for kitten rescue and fostering. Since then, I’ve adopted and fostered many more cats, each one leaving a special place in my heart. Every year, during kitten season, the island is flooded with abandoned kittens—some left by bins, others born to stray cats all over the island. Sadly, there’s little help from the authorities, and it’s left to a handful of volunteers like me to step in, often at our own expense. These kittens are often very sick and need a lot of attention and care to survive. Sometimes, they stay with me for months on end as I work tirelessly to nurse them back to health. Every year, I foster and rehome countless kittens, driven by the need to give them a chance at a life.
