The Story Behind Kissing Kittens
Hi, I’m Charlene. I’ve been rescuing and fostering cats and kittens here in Ibiza for the past eight years.
Kissing Kittens is a small, family-run jewellery business, supported by my daughter in the UK and inspired by the cats and kittens who have changed my life.
Where It All Began
My journey into cat rescue began when my daughter and I moved into an apartment in Ibiza that came with a beautiful abandoned cat named Chufi.
She had been left behind by the previous occupants like so many other cats here in Ibiza and had know here else to go, and so she quickly became part of our family.
Not long afterwards, we discovered a tiny litter of kittens in the forest behind our apartment. They had been disturbed by work taking place in the woodland and desperately needed help.
Those kittens introduced me to the world of cat rescue and opened my eyes to the number of abandoned and vulnerable cats living across Ibiza.
What started with one abandoned cat and a litter of forest kittens completely changed the direction of my life.
From Rescue to Kissing Kittens
Since then, I have continued rescuing and fostering cats and kittens in need. Along the way, I became mum to seven rescue cats of my own, all of whom came into my life as kittens in need or strays looking for somewhere safe.
Rescue is incredibly rewarding, but it can also be difficult, unpredictable and expensive. As the years passed and the rescue work continued to grow, I knew I needed to find a way to help support it—and that is how Kissing Kittens was born.
I wanted to combine my love of cats with jewellery that cat lovers would genuinely want to wear: beautiful everyday pieces, playful designs and thoughtful gifts, all chosen with meaning behind them.
Jewellery That Helps Cats
Between 10% and 20% of every product sale helps support cat and kitten rescue in Ibiza, contributing towards food, kitten milk, medication, veterinary treatment and other essential care.
Every purchase helps me continue the work that began eight years ago with Chufi and those first kittens in the forest.
